Vespel SP-1 - A Highly Advanced Material

Vespel SP-1 is chemically designated as a polyamide. Its color is generally brown and it is an unoccupied polyamide that offers utmost elongation as well as strength for electrical as well as mechanical components even at elevated temperatures. The highest range of heat may exceed up to 400 Celsius.

The following are some of the specific characteristics of Vespel SP-1

1) Far above the ground elongation as well as strength
2) Most favorable mechanical characteristics
3) Little out gassing
4) little conductivity for charges
5) Present in the form of a pure compound
6) Resistant to a special type of OV105T flame
7) Resistant to heat

Vespel SP-1 is used in the following fields:-

1) Semi-conductor field
2) Electronic industry
3) Industries using high temperature for producing goods
4) Aerospace as well as aircraft manufacturing
5) Pressure valves
6) Sealers
7) Insulated products
8) Those Electrical as well as Mechanical goods that are manufactured at elevated temperatures
9) For manufacturing round rings

Therefore Vespel SP-1 is a chemical product that is chemical resistant, temperature resistant, no need of artificial lubrication, has mechanical toughness, is wear resistant and finally has the property of insulation. Products manufactured with the help of Vespel SP-1 offer temperature range from highly low temperatures like -450o c to very high temperatures like 400°C, has huge resistance towards liquidification, and finally highly helpful in making electrical and mechanical products.

Types of VESPEL products
Type 1
it is chemically a polyamide. It supplies highest elongation, toughness as well as physical strength. It also has the most excellent thermal as well as electrical standards. The most important uses comprise of high-temp fixtures, spacers, balls, valve seats, insulators, seals as well as gaskets.

Type 2
Type 2 contains 20% carbon by mass added specially to it for increasing the "resistance properties" as well as reducing the frictional resistance for making it suitable for manufacture of products like thrust washers, bearings, slide blocks, seal rings, bushings as well as used for such similar applications. Type 2 has the main electrical properties due to the presence of free charge carriers in it.

Type 3
Type 3 comprises of 21% DTLE as well as 24% carbon by mass that has the smallest resistance towards friction as compared to all the 3 types and are also used for several rough processes. It is the best type out of all the 3 mentioned.
