Electrical Contractors Applications For the Ramset T3 SS Tool

What is a Ramset T3SS Tool?

A Ramset T3SS Tool is a gas actuated fastening tool that is designed for mounting various pins and assemblies to concrete. While powder actuated tools have been used for decades in the electrical trades for fastening to concrete, the Ramset T3SS tool is designed to the same basic operations but with an easier to use gas powered tool.

The Ramset T3 SS tool is actually an internal combustion engine, similar to the Trakfast tools that have been in use for many years by the drywall trades. The biggest advantages of the Ramset T3 SS tool are the fact that you don't have to adjust the power level and you do not require licensing to operate the tool.

What can The Ramset T3SS Tool do?

Using a variety of pre-assembled clips and fasteners, the Ramset T3 SS tool can mount boxes, mount emt half straps and bx clips, conduit conduit clips, mount 1/4-20 studs and hang ceiling clips. The Ramset T3 SS tool can also be used on a pole tool allowing for the installation of ceiling clips pre tied with ceiling grid wire for hanging light fixtures. Keep in mind, the pins for use in the Ramset T3SS tool are different than for the powder actuated tools, so make sure you have the right pin for the job.

In conclusion

The Ramset T3 SS tool is becoming more common on the job site and while it may never completely replace powder actuated tools, they have a lot to offer the electrical contractor.
